No statue is safe from wokeness, political correctness, cancel culture.

We have lots of famous people but the woke/cancel culture is tearing them down because they don’t fit”their” standard of perfection. Instead they have put up a statue of a recent someone who was shot. He, however, had multiple crimes before being shot. Crazy world we live in.

As long as the “famous” were not traitors.

Why have statues of losers who fought against their own country?

I wonder, if we lost the Revolutionary War, how many statues of George Washington would there be in this country. Zero, I bet!

Looks like a ghost of a statue. Must be halloween time.

It’s only a matter of time before someone finds a reason to be offended by that statue and wants it torn down.

It’s the infamous ones that some folks have problems with.

As long as they aren’t traitors, slaveholders, abusers and exploiters they can put up as many as they please.

Unfortunately even the famous aren’t perfect, then again who is.

My brothers and sisters in #IdleNoMore have been doing the work our ancestors couldn’t, for fear of death.

Why are we celebrating slave owners, rapists, murderers, etc.? People who instituted Residential Schools etc.

After WWII, all the Hitler statues and other monuments raised to the Nazi’s were torn down. After the fall of communism in Eastern Europe, the communist statues were torn down (Hungary did the right thing and collected them into a park for public display). Raising a statue to men that supported, and fought the nation, to preserve slavery as an institution in or near black neighborhoods fit the same mold. How would you feel about a statue of Osama Bin Laden at ground zero in NY? After all, he was a big part of the history of that event.

And possibly offend someone? Gasp!

A country without a past won’t be a country.

A country without boarders won’t be a country.

We don’t have a country anymore.

Famous/infamous which ever.

Beware, History forgotten is history repeated.
