Katy—you should learn the code of the chocolatier. Every piece is marked with a symbol showing what’s inside it.

Besides…what other way could you guarantee that you will be able to have the whole box to yourself? (Yes, I’m greedy when it comes to chocolate.) ;-)

Or you can use this handy guide to identifying chocolates: http://www.gocomics.com/richards-poor-almanac/2015/02/12

The chocolate recipients code clearly states that what you do with your chocolates is between you and your chocolates. Moochers beware!!!!

I always used a knife to cut them in half. Because if I didn’t like it, I didn’t mind if someone else ate it.

I don’t care for coconut, and loathe mint (toothpaste, anyone?) but beyond that, my attitude is “it’s chocolate; how bad can it be?”

This is why I stick to Hershey Bars! Sometimes I’ll splurge and go for one with almonds..I always know exactly what I am getting…

When I used to buy chocolates from “See’s” i had the heart packed with exactly what my girl wanted. That was a long time ago. Don’t even know if they’re still around.

I think the bigger Whitman’s Samplers have a “map” which lets the chocoholic know which candy is which, without the poking.

Well what in the world does she like? Not orange or coconut cremes, not anything with nougat or nuts. I guess she thinks she’s entitled to the cherry and maple cremes. Fine. . . she can have the cherry cremes, and I’ll take the maple and coconut cremes and all the nuts. ;-)
