I used to drive past McDonalds HU frequently in Chicago. It’s no joke! Hard to get accepted to. I think there are about a half a dozen all over the world now.
When I worked at McDonald’s, I started in the grill area and made all those sandwiches. I worked there at a time when they would make a whole bunch of sandwiches and they’d be in a warmer. Of course, you could order it special for yourself. When I was a kid, my mom wouldn’t let me do that because she didn’t want to wait for the food. That was silly. It didn’t take long to make a Filet-O-Fish without tartar. I don’t know if it was the rule when I was a kid, but when I worked there, grill orders were to be completed in 59 seconds or less.
Yay! New knowledge! This will be a wonderful tidbit to throw down. (Not kidding— my husband says I’ve got a garbage-pit-mind, but in the wonderful, archeological-layers-of-cool sense.)

The restaurant should invite him back and give him a big pay raise. And you could eat there for free.

Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions – on a sesame seed bun. Sigh. I can’t believe they left out the club.

Possibly apropos of nothing but since Panel 3 mentions the heel, my favorite piece of a loaf of bread is the heel.
