@Linguist Today’s strip is slightly funny , it just shows that our HERO Mr Andrew Capp can stand only low percentage alcoholic ale , higher octane gin floors him :o) , I hate gin I’d rather drink kerosine , my avatar is a spoof of Leroy having to re-set all his clocks and electronics appliances after a power outage , which is like I had to do this morning , because we have changed over to Daylight Saving Time in Malta ,all that i can’t re-set is my internal clock :o{ comment avez vous passe votre Dimanche mon moins vieux ami ? our Sunday should be busy but calm I hope , no morning drive or errands ,alterations finished ,accumulated junk disposed of we don’t feel like fighting ,so we can relax and hear the Holy Mass on TV keep afe and a bientot chum

Sloe Gin is a song originally sang by Tim Curry, but popularised by Joe Bonamassa.

30% (or 60 proof in America) is roughly 6 times the potency of Andy’s favorite ale

Hmm, this just doesn’t ring true. Why would he be surprised to see Andy lying down at the bar. Maybe if he’d asked “why is he lying down so soon”?

Slo gin doesn’t work that fast. It takes a while to kick in but when it does it’s like somebody walked up behind you with a baseball bat. Yes spea,ING from experiences in my youth and a preferred drink of slo gin and coke. Kind if like a can of Dr. Pepper with a kick.

I really don’t think Andy would get past the smell.

Has Jack been watering down the gin? Around here it is 40%.

Hard to believe that an old sot like Andy would go down from that small amount of alcohol, no matter what strength. BTW hope all of the Jewish faith are enjoying Passover.

Maybe the writer intended it to be a play on words – SLOE GIN – sipping but Andy knocked it straight down “real fast.” But kinda lame regardless for an old sot like Andy…
