Does Janis mean that they have been married only 25 years? Seems much longer than that. Perhaps she means that that’s how long she’s been cooking. Ideas, anyone?

My wife cooks on weekends, some of them, if she can find the tools and ingredients. Really, I do not hid them.

Janis’ expression tells me that Arlo is sous in trouble.

A good sous chef is hard to find. Best keep the one you have.

I think the “whip something up” comment touched a nerve.

The Mrs is like that when she gets in the kitchen. But, since she’s a Scot, it is “Aye, Chef.” Her Scots Gaelic comes out in three places, the kitchen, when she’s mad, or in the bedroom (or wherever we might be)
