As an IT guy, my two favorite sayings on the subject are “Working at the speed of computers!” and “It wasn’t like this on Star Trek.” The Klingons have shot up the Enterprise and it lies sideways in space (!) and all that works is the lighting and the computer (singular), and maybe life support.
