I tried that with my “Luddie” but he refuses the cat bed no matter the place. He prefers our used clothing or blankets. And topping our blanketed bodies at night.
Thought about giving him a choice? His bed on the floor, or the floor. We have a dog but we set boundaries that he now recognises. After all, the alpha animal is the one that does whatever they want to do

What could be upsetting Janis so much? Is that a new gizmo Arlo thought would make Luddie happy?

Cats like to be up high. A bed on the floor doesn’t cut it for his majesty uh… Luddie.

At first I thought it was a food dish the cat was sleeping in. Either way, I wouldn’t want the thing in our bed either.

I have several kitty beds on a shelf unit with a view of the outdoors, birds, squirrels, etc. Very popular.

our dog has his dog bed on our bed, the only place he’ll use it.

He’s a cat. If he doesn’t want to sleep in the bed, he can sleep on the floor. or any chair, couch or any other flat surface in the house.

Why would he sleep in his food bowl, and how would he get it up on the bed?

My daughter shares her bed with 3 cats, one small dog and a husband. She yawns a lot every time I see her.

Cats are like that. They never, NEVER sleep in the pet beds you get them.

Maybe they could just start moving a lot and upset him enough to make him move
