My Gram used to spend Xmas with us. My parents were usually working at one of their two-each jobs. Gram would organize us kids into a three-day Xmas sweet shop bakery in our kitchen. We’d make cookies, pies, sweet bread rolls. To this day, when ever I bake cookies I am transported back to those epic smell-good, feel-good memories.
No cookies – no cake – can’t eat any of it – will go going to sister-in-law for Christmas Day dinner and will not eat anything (in the literal sense) while there – just sip diet soda – as there is nothing that I am allowed to eat – salt, fat, cheese, carbs – she used to have a main course, but she no longer does and that was all I could eat. She also never notices that I don’t eat anything.

I made about 10 dozen cookies just yesterday. Not Christmas cookies, though, just flour-free peanut butter and good ole’ chocolate chip.
