When I taught at the elementary school level, the first week of school a letter would go out to the parents. We asked them to contribute supplies such as crayons, markers, scotch tape, Kleenex, pencils, etc. Many parents were generous with their giving.
With these school voucher programs, public schools will be struggling more than ever. It’s wrong for tax payer money to be used by parents to send their children to private schools, many of which are faith based. The decimation of public education is a goal of the right wing.

How many assistant superintendents does the district have? Another place to look is all the unfunded mandates that are sent out of Washington.
