I discovered landscaping by 8 year olds! They were outside playing, I dropped a handful of shovels on the sidewalk, they came running down. “Whatcha doing?” “Digging holes!” “Can we?” “go for it!” Two hours later I fed them popsicles and told them to come back in 2 hours for an even bigger surprise than popsicles. Counted the number of holes they dug, went out and bought that many plants, they came back, I showed them how to plant them, and where the hose was to water them (they stopped by every day after school and watered the plants they put in), fed them more popsicles and sent them home.
