How old are these women who have been using this to their advantage for centuries?

I don’t mean this in a bad way, actually trying to be complimentary, if my wife were a car she would be a Volvo. She has done pretty well given she started with the fahrvergnügen of a Volkswagen.

Back in the 80s I belonged to a running club from which a contingent went to the Honolulu marathon every winter. One year a club member started chatting with a tall curly-haired man as they ran together for a while. Afterward, the others came up to her and said “You were running with Tom Selleck!!!”

She said “Who?” She had to have been the only woman in North America who didn’t know who he was. They had a tee shirt with “Tom Who?” printed on it and presented it to her at the annual club banquet.

It is mostly middle aged men who drive sporty cars. Most young men can’t afford the insurance.

You may not get many opportunities to do so, but when you do they’re fun to drive.

When I was a young pup working at a car dealership, I had the opportunity to drive a convertible Corvette. I hated it. The open top made me feel vulnerable and the car had far more power than I was used to.

    .

Maybe now that I’m older and wiser- ahem. Maybe now that I’m older, I could handle it better. But I just don’t see any reason why I’d want to.

I wonder if there is an intentional or accidental irony in using that description of what men are attracted to …

Boy, Missy REALLY can’t get her head around the detail that it’s not expensive.

Not sure if this is true but…I have heard that the reason for having the top off the Ferrari was that Sellek couldn’t fit in the seat with it on!

Most women are impractical, unreliable, and expensive. But they’re fun to drive.

“Men are attracted to pretty things that look like fun, but are impractical, unreliable, and expensive.” Yeah we are. We call them women.

Out of curiosity, went to see how “inexpensive” a Ferrari 308 GTS actually was … https://atticcapital.com/magnum-pi-ferrari/ according to this website, they are still between $60 and $80k. That is still out of my price range by at least a factor of 2.
