I remember one of the early video games (1970s) dealt with how to fire a cannon, and the computer would calculate the landing. Supposed to hit the target in three tries or less. So, once, I plugged in 93 degrees, and it displayed the trajectory, and then read out YOU IDIOT – YOU WIPED OUT THE MOTOR POOL!
Reading without comprehension is a typical human failure, and it is still prevalent. No help for it except discovery in one painful event after another.
One of my favorite quotes: Life is an experiment conducted under uncontrolled conditions. It is one long chemical reaction that is as unpredictable as it is vibrant. Michael Connelly- (Chasing the Dime, 2002)
