I think I prefer the Ladybugs in Speechless.

I never thought aI would see a ladybug that gives me the creeps. Shudddddder.

Never very fond of the name Ladybug. It is named after “Mary (Our Lady) was often depicted wearing a red cloak in early paintings” (Wikipedia). And it is a beetle… not a simple bug. Britain aims for Ladybird. German name Marienkäfer translates to Marybeetle. Much of Europe follows this pattern. I like the Latin name – coccinellids. It means Scarlet ! Descriptive without getting into religion.

Whatever it is, it should evolve faster.

Now, thank God this is still a joke, but as we approach an era that resembles to Orwell’s 1984, there will be a time when it wouldn’t be PC anymore to call this insect a ladybug. Sad, but true, but sooner or later some stupid activist would say “this name is offensive”, and society won’t stand up, like “hey, shut up stupid, go to a mental clinic”, but would agree.

They eat other bugs, especially aphids. I’ll tolerate tem.

I used to “catch” the ones that I could and place them on my rose trees in order for them to eat those lousy aphids !

I don’t think they’ll argue with him(?) about which bathroom he’s gonna use!
