Most modern hunters would be left doing the same thing. Far too many use bait stations. Whether legal or not, doesn’t matter. That’s how most do it. Sometimes they remove them during hunting season. Which doesn’t matter as the deer are now trained to come to those places, even after it’s removed. Far easier than learning to track, learn behaviors, and set up on a trail. Then wait hoping that they were right about the animals behavior that the animal to enable them to have a successful hunt. No, most modern hunters are more into the kill, and the bragging rights, than the hunt itself.
