Reminds me of the book by Lotte Hass: “Ein Mädchen auf dem Meeresgrund”. As a kid I found it extremely interesting. Don’t know what title the Engl. version does have.

Cows kill quite a few more people each year than sharks do (however I don’t know if that’s more to do with the fact that far more people encounter cows than sharks?) Snakes on the other hand are in the top 3 deadliest animals! Here in Southern New Mexico it’s rattlesnakes we’ve got to watch out for

Both snakes and sharks suffer from bad press. . .as the old song goes: All god’s children got a place in the choir". . .

“Only on Fridays. The rest of the time is snake-free diet.”

BC art seems less professionally detailed these days. Absence of color doesn’t help.

My grandson’s pet snake is living with me right now. His name is Buddha, and he’s very zen.

Why would there be a wharf for the snake to fall off of when there are no boats to moor at it?

I’m glad to see on Nextdoor that people are becoming more knowledgeable and caring about snakes. It’s sad to see a beautiful corn snake or scarlet kingsnake chopped up due to ignorance.
