Put the kids in boots and just throw the socks in a size drawers. Any two will work.

If we could just get them all clean at the same time, we could finally throw out those ones we’ve been hanging onto for years, waiting for their mates to show up.

Start with the solid whites, then the whites with stripes, then sort by solid color.

A woman moved out of our homeless shelter and left behind a garbage bag full of white socks – none of which matched. We stuffed the smaller socks into the larger ones, tied them off, embroidered faces on them, and gave them to the kids.

Buy blue socks for one kid, red for another, etc. Then it would be easily sorted.

I buy socks of the same color and style. Reach in the dryer and grab any two and voila you have a pair.

This is me trying to sort my husband’s socks. His work socks are all white, 3 different kinds. I just match the “kinds” first, then match by how much they have stretched. It is a non-gratis chore.

Pin them together. While they are wearing them, the pin goes in the top of the sock. Then, at the end of the day, they pin them together again. Simple

If you find one with a “piggy” cop on it, it’s Krappernecks.

Use the mesh bags – each kids’ socks go into a different bag.

My problem is that we each buy all our socks the same (all of mine the same, all of his the same, but different from mine). The D@%! sock companies have each batch of socks made somewhere different, with different fabric blends, and slightly different patterns.

So husband’s “same socks” are in 5 different lengths, tighter and looser tops, and slightly different colors of the same colors.

My “same socks” are in 3 different lengths and 4 different weights. One set of them is so small that my foot has trouble getting into them – and, while a grown woman, have such a small foot that I wear a boys 4 shoe – I hate to think what a woman with an average size foot or larger does with these undersized socks.
