She doesn’t want to burn out.

As someone who retired to Florida 2.5 years ago, I can tell you that I now wear long sleeves when I go out on a boat, or power walk… I always have a hat and sunglasses, and even when I float in my own pool chair, reading a book, I wear long sleeves and a long, flimsy skirt to cover up my skin. Despite all these practices, I am still TAN, which illustrates how much sun you can get without even trying here!

Betty, you’re blonde and should not be out sunbathing. On a beautiful day, sit in the shade from the house and read a good book.

There’s nothing to compare to the way a “healthy tan” ages your skin. Right up there with smoking.

Some of my best naps were while sunbathing on the beach. Though, I’m naturally tan (I’m Creole) so it wasn’t to get darker but I do enjoy sleeping under the sun.

For her, depending on the time of day, 15 minutes may be 5 minutes to sun bath. Which is weird doing so. We don’t have chlorophyll in our skin. (Maybe we should engineer it in.)

I have skin like her so for men avoiding the Sun is the key to avoid skin cancer including melanomas.

For a woman who complains about her body so much, Betty actually looks pretty good for her age.
