It doesn’t reflect on you, Bub. Junior’s just a normal teen. At least he seems to listen to you and Betty, and also obviously hold you both in affection.
A searing indictment of my generation when I look at a lot of on line comments and obnoxious memes. That is why I like this go comics page, most people are civil and just looking for some humor in our day to day lives.
just yesterday I was watching a documentary on gamers. Not current gamers, but in people that achieved high scores in things like Pac-Man and Missile Command. It was kind of awkward. It was men in their 50s or 60s probably, but acting like 12 years old, saying things like ‘only sissies play Pac man’, or a guy in a mullet acting like a hero because he got a high score in Pac Man (the documentary is called ‘Chasing ghosts’).It somehow made me remember when people played like a big thing when they got a high score in Guitar hero, and the memes that came later.. ‘so, when is your next album coming up next’.. Or a thing called the ‘gamer-gate’: for one thing, there was a journalist saying that some games are very sexist; on the other side, a bunch of men who have never talked to a real woman, living in their mum’s garages, acting all rude behind their screens and threatening the journalist because censoring those games would take away their only chance to see a woman (even if a woman made up of polygons). They both screwed up; for one thing, even if those games are sexists, is none of the journalist business. Those games are no different than any other kind of fan service, like the books of the ‘shades of Gray’ series, sometimes called ‘mom porn’ according to wikipedia; on the other hand, being a loser and ‘standing by it’; and threatening somebody if they remove their fan-service instead of getting a real life.. I was gonna write ‘sad’, but the actual word is ‘pathetic’. No more pathetic than a 50 year old man that thinks that achieving a high score in a game from 40 years ago (making up a number, I don’t know when did that game came out) is very manly, even if he has probably not got laid in his entire life, or the other guy, because he is so cool for the same reason, and that was his big achievement.. just.. gross. As a disclaimer I like video games, and I even work with things related to these; but when I play I do it because I have fun or expect to have fun
Crowing after winning is now standard in professional sports. Watch Harimoto playing table tennis(!) on youtube. Of course amateur players emulate that.

Was it Jeremy (on Zitz) who said, “Rude and obnoxious are the default setting for teenagers”?
