Truth to tell, even I am bored! I really can’t blame Bub and Junior!

I’m feeling sad for Betty. It’s a terrible, terrible game, but for some unfathomable reason she likes it.

Always hated that game. My Dad used to always win….we would accuse him of cheating (hiding money under the board). I dunno. He always won; we always lost. I have no desire to ever play it again. The thing I liked best about it, though, was that it was a REALLY OLD edition of the game and the pieces were made of WOOD. Pretty cool.

Playing board games as a youngster leads to nostalgia as an oldster.

My family’s big thing was jigsaw puzzles, didn’t understand the attraction.

Not a pastime for the easily bored.

it’s time spent as a family which may not happen too often. give Betty a break and go with her excitement; she’s at her happiest right now!

And for those who are wondering – $500 is the rent on Park Place with 2 houses.

Of course it’s better to get the orange or red triples than Boardwalk/Park Place, but perhaps my Monopoly obsession is showing.

Betty is a sucker for punishment….punishing others I mean.

Most games are not really all that “fun”. But spending time with friends or family while playing (anything) is priceless.

Geez, people! Am I the only board game fan here??!

There is a card based version of Monopoly that does away with the board. It’s called ‘Monopoly Deal’, and it is surprisingly good. Much better than the old board version. Cheap, too. (Something like $8 at my local Walmart.)
