Define what you actually mean by “a sound” in this context, and you’ll answer the question in the process. (Boring but straightforward.)

That’s similar to my theory – Except in very unusual cirecumstances, there will always be some critters and bugs that can hear it.

Where else would a star go nova, your backyard?

If you’re close enough to hear, you won’t have time to hear it.

But an animal IS someone to hear it. If a tree falls where there are NO living beings or none with ears, then there would be no sound because sound is only what is heard. My argument back in HS.

A tree once stalked me on a hike in the forest. Didn’t hear a sound till it stumbled on another tree’s root. Boy, did it ever scream!!
