Oh…I know Nate can be an arrogant little so and so, but I hate seeing him like this. He really has a good heart and he and Daphne are so good together.

The facial expressions (Nate’s eyes, Teddy and Francis’ eyebrows -showing concern), body movements (Nate sitting down by his locker), and the chiseled speech bubble showing Nate’s concern and worry.

At least his friends are more supportive than the other people (Randy and Daphne’s friends!)

This arc is being dragged out

I actually DON’T think Nate and Daphne are perfect for each other. Reason being that he is not smart, and the thing that created the idea of a relationship was Nate being smart for literally 5 seconds. If Nate had not just randomly became smart for that one moment during the partner assignment, Daphne would have just written off Nate. Nevertheless boooo, breaking up is a big L.

Lingering guilt, but you’re not the one responsible Nate, it’s the 3rd parties who interject themselves to have their way, and how they’ll only be happy once things go their way. I remember a comment on the site 6 years ago, that said: “If a girl breaks up with the guy, she has a reason. If the boy breaks up with the girl, then he’s stupid.” Nate’s not stupid in this case, neither Daphne’s got a prime reason to breakup.

This just hurts to watch.

This is what makes Francis and Teddy true friends as opposed to Daphne’s. When Daphne and Nate first started dating Francis and Teddy jokingly said they’d only be together 3 weeks. But when Nate believes they actually might break up they immediately question why cause they never (truthfully) believed Daphne was too good for him, they knew they both made each other happy and that’s what mattered.

It’s nice to see Francis and Teddy be nice to Nate. A little ray of sunshine in this dark arc.

No Nate you weren’t perfect for her friends, let’s not give up on Daphne just yet.

The thing people are overlooking is that this “breakup” is very interesting because it is solely based on rumors and peer pressure, unlike Nate’s other breakups.

You knew it was gonna happen your not gonna marry so you had to expect it to happen but the way it did hurts daphnes friends are jerks but honestly they are not wrong

Daphne brings out the best in Nate. Their differences only make them more interesting as a couple.

nate has dated many grls that weren’t good enough for him but daphne was the one that was actually perfect for him .

Don’t pay attention to rumors. I did once when I was young, in a very similar situation and it cost me dearly……

Wait a second, Francis and Teddy are actually being… supportive? This is serious.

Francis and Teddy are way better friends than Daphne’s friends. Francis and Teddy see how well the relationship works, and know that Nate’s history shouldn’t break them up. Daphne’s friends are just mean and manipulative, and they don’t care about Daphne’s feelings for Nate.

Ah, some time for soul-searching….

Francis, you’re one to speak. You were the one who said that he wouldn’t last with her for a week or month, I’m not sure.

Strip rating: 7/10 Nate, you may not be perfect for her, but she likes you for who you are, not for what you’ve done and haven’t done… Honestly, Nate’s depression here is contagious, this is nice storytelling.

I’m waiting for Daphne to reassure him…

This breaks my heart. BUT I am changing my mind from what I said the other day. There will be a plot twist and she DOESN’T dump him!

This is exactly why Nate and Daphne shouldn’t break up. This is easily the most growth Nate has shown in any of his relationships. There’s no chance that Nate is this humble with any of his previous girlfriends; he would have seen them as the problem.

He broke up with Kelly for purely selfish and egotistical reasons. He wasn’t really ready for a relationship with Angie. Trudy was a self-centered jerk who deserved Nate dumping her. Daphne makes Nate better and makes Nate want to be better.

Please let Daphne gain her senses. May be Nate should write her a letter like he did when she was at camp. Or give her another gift like the only seashell he found all summer. PLEEEEASE!!!

I’m as invested in this storyline as I was in Guard Dog’s over on Mutts. Can’t wait!

They were actually a great couple

See how vicious gossip can be? Two people who enjoyed spending time together are now miserable because some busy- bodies couldn’t keep their opinions to themselves.

Yes it’s a comic but something very similar happened to my dad. He married a lovely lady that cared for him. My brother didn’t approve of her and managed to drive them apart. Even after they separated they called each other several times a day. It was sad that they couldn’t spend their final days together.

Now, that’s the level of self awareness I like! This show that is not too late. Nate can still work for save his relationship with Daphne.

I find it realllly hard to believe that they’re going to break up for real. I do always love when Nate gets to display these types of emotions though

Nice to see his friends genuinely being kind and supportive even though they slightly teased him about being with Daphne in the past.

This plot line hits hard. Hopefully Daphne comes around in the end!

Imagine being peer pressured to consider breaking up with someone you love

Daphne just needs some space to decide where her head and heart are regarding her and Nate. She sees that sand dollar and the meltdown will decide…
