When I was the age of this kid, or maybe a little younger, I set my grandmother’s back stoop on fire. It was made of wood and I had recently learned from my dad that heat always goes up. So I was trying to burn some simple wood toy or thing I made and felt confident that the surface under it was safe. Then the paint on the back stoop ignited and started to spread. My dad saw it and extinguished the fire before any serious damage was done, and I learned another physics lesson about fire.
