An old burger palace closed and is having an equipment auction. You too can have 2 – 3′ × 6′ gas heated flat griddles and a 35 lb deep fryer at home.

“Hold the pickle, hold the lettuce. Special orders don’t upset us”. "Where’s the Beef?’ and “Two all beef patties, special sauce lettuce cheese on a sesame seed bun.” Ahh, the Burger Wars. And lol at “Whomever”

When I HAVE to, I’ll take a Culver’s butter burger (which are probably very bad for you), or stop by the nearest DQ… I’ll take these others if there’s no choice left.. but I agree: I can do better at home. :)

Of the 3, I prefer Wendy’s, then BK…and then anything else before McD’s.

Good, fast, or cheap. Pick any two.

I would stop at any small diner in the land before I patronize one of those corporate monstrosities.

Told the wife the other day that I was craving an “1106” burger. Having worked at the 1106 Drive-In during the college years (Lo, these many years ago) she knew exactly what I meant. No idea where to get one.

Since White Castle was excluded, the test results are invalid.

Best burger I’ve had was in the 70s at a Woolworth lunch counter.

“Whomever” will have his with anchovies.

Actually, putting anchovies on a hamburger would taste AMAZING!

    (I must be part penguin!)

Home cookin’ burgers only tastes better if one eschews use of the preformed frozen patties and buys real ground beef (no pink slime) and makes their own burger.

Flame broiled – and none of that propane grill stuff – make it charcoal, or even better, wood fire.

On a multigrain bun with artisanal mustard and ketchup. A nice thick slice of vidalia onion. A nice thick slice of home-grown tomato, in season, is also nice. (None of those nasty picked-green-and-gassed grocery store tomatoes, please!)

    (Anchovies are optional.)

I didn’t have any use for that slop before I became a vegetarian. I like food.

Sometimes one can get a good burger in a bar. The Ground Round (which is no more in Jackson) had an excellent mushroom and swiss.

I’d think Opus would prefer a herring burger.

    Fast Food?

McDonalds: cardboard food (except the fries).

Burger King: Sloppy, how do I keep it from sliding apart?

Wendys: My favorite of the three, and it has the best chicken nuggets as well.

There was a time, some time ago now, that I had no doubt that Fudruckers was the best choice for burgers. But I haven’t been to one in decades, so I don’t know if they’ve kept up to the standards they had. Come to that, I haven’t had a really good burger in about that long… certainly haven’t found any worthwhile burger joints around where I live these days. If moving wasn’t such an expensive pain in the ass process I’d have left years ago.

Haven’t had one yet, but Farmer Boys has the best according to a friend. But they don’t consider themselves fast food. Everything there is made to order.

The whole point of “Fast Food” is that people don’t have time to do Homecooking! So, I’m with Opus….
