It’s very noble to attack hunting and many hunters are jackasses. But where I live, it’s a cruel necessity. There are no apex predators here anymore. No wolves, no Mountain Lions. The white tailed deer run rampant. Hunting might be cruel to the fans of Bambi. But if you want to see something REALLY cruel, go see a deer that starving to death, insane with hunger. Or a deer hit by a car with its back broken, ripping the hide off itself because it cannot understand why its back legs don’t move.
Kinda reminds me of the time I went to Fedex to mail some Xmas packages. Long line, and right in front of me were two women talking loudly (I think everyone could hear them). One was complaining to the other about her male dog in heat trying to make it with the other dogs in the neighborhood, and the woman wasn’t happy about it. I got tired of the whole thing and said in a loud voice “LADY-THAT’S WHY THEY CALL THEM ANIMALS”. The room got really quiet, then the laughter started…
As in a fine china shop there should be a “you kill it, you eat it” law. Would make some interesting cases with the “I thought he/she was a deer” hair trigger crowd.
