Well, times DO change. These days, it’s the Reprobate Republicans who have a garbage scow full of trashy mediocrities with a loud-mouth decrepit ex-presidunce as the revolting cherry on top. Ugh. The horror. Remember what Barney Frank et al. said about it all years ago, “Vote Democratic. We’re not perfect, but they’re nuts!”
While caring for my late father I would have old ’toon annuals to read for a few minutes while he was on the toilet. Old Doonesbury from the 80s, a UK daily cartoonist called Giles (which I had dismissed as racist but on later reading turns out to have a very accurate eye for changing British culture from the 40s to his death in the 90s)… and my collection of Bloom County. Getting into the Blooms I have read recently.
A classic Giles cartoon is from the WWII Blitz on London. A row of shops in a bombed street, one with minor damage has a sign saying ‘Open as usual’, the next one blown in and gutted has a sign ‘More open than usual!’
Describing the current fake Republican crop, eh? Okay, so I have to confess that I have heard of a couple of them, but still, the pickings couldn’t be slimmer.
The strip is only talking about Democrats, but all a lot of people can do is try to link it to Republicans… recall that in 1988, a certain Dem candidate dropped out of the race due to his plagiarism… :-P
Bill Clinton , was reported to have had Government papers in his " sock " drawer and his wife the " scary " Hillary shredded something like 30 thousand files and E Mails , Whew ! And they say the Trump is bad ?
Biden’s mental faculties are certainly impaired and the corruption as is evidenced in his son’s laptop should make every American question “What is going on?” But the scariest thing above all of it is the use of the FBI to thwart President Trump’s campaign.
It’s interesting that in February 2023, the AP News reported that most Democrats say no thank you to Biden running for reelection; but ABC News claimed that the DNC has no reservations about Biden running and no other establishment Democrat is planning to oppose him. Both The NY Times and CNN reported in June that a poll of Democrats revealed that 75% of them don’t want JB as the candidate of choice in 2024. Three days ago, the Washington Examiner declared that the majority of Democrat voters believer JB is too old to serve another term. It makes you wonder if the DNC is paying attention to or even cares about the competence of their candidate and the confidence of their voting block.
Only three Dems so far. Old Handsome Joe, Robert Kennedy, Jr. and Marianne Williamson. AOC is a dark horse but may settle for a second round as VP to Joe.Looks like a nice spread. One moderate left, one crazy-@&& and a Progressive.

People shouldn’t be expected to know who the candidates are 17 months ahead of the general election.

As I recall, 1987 was the year Brandon was running for president but dropped out due to the revelation of plagiarism and lying.

Who? What? Here? Now?
Bah. Let them stay in the (anxiety) closet!
