While I do not doubt their abilities or dedication, it’s the term practitioner that bothers me. Doesn’t everyone deserve someone who has completed the entire pre-med, internship, doctor thing? And, just for curiosity, are patients who are directed to a PA billed the same as if they have been seen by an MD?
We do just fine here in Canada. I’ve had 12 surgeries in my life, including an amputation last year. In 1995 my son had a successful eight hour brain tumour surgery. He has two kids and lives a normal life. Finding a GP, A psych, a surgeon, all fine and our choice. Total cost Priceless. I might agree about the scum though, they’d be our one per-centres. Cheers.

Yep. Supposedly the schooling is the same but they don’t serve a residency. Wonder if that applies in all states.

Nurse Practitioners give great care. For most appointments, they are more helpful than doctors!

Hey Bill: you clearly don’t understand the capabilities of Nurse Practitioners or the role that they play on in the health care system. Dumb-joke….
