1 Well, I guess everybody’s happy more or less.

    2 Congrats Bozo, it wasn’t a counterfeit.

3 Bozo don’t know what happened, but will take credit for it.

Hearts are Trumps: I know squat about the history of the art of the comic, but how early an example is this of using adjacent panels to invoke space and motion, such as from panel one into panel two?

Sunk: He does it again from panel two to panel three!

Rolling along: The beefy cop chasing someone with a nightclub raised is such a frequent image in this strip. Almost to the point of being a throw-away gag, like umbrella guy. Of course, oftentimes that beefy cop is chasing Bozo, so he becomes an integral part of the action.

Maybe I’m just now seeing something that has always been there or been obvious to other people, but these motion passed from frame to frame techniques had to have been conceived of, thought about, worked on, and worked through, over time and perhaps different media (i.e. pre-electronic).

    1. Everyone likes cute little fellers.

    2. Nobody likes counterfeit currency.

    3. Like it or not, RUN!

    …

Monday blues will runs away faster than Bozo runs from cops, when you reads this wonderful comic. Big thumbs up, big applause, and three cheers once again, for Foxo’s marvellous masterpiece, the ever entertaining picturesque pantomime called BOZO!

    1) It’s not exactly what Bozo was hoping for. 2) A slug? A clink and a clunk. 3) You can always find a policeman when you’re not looking for one.

Puppy love. Plug nickel. Skate keystone. I’ve often heard of a plug nickel, but I’ve never seen one.

As the producer of Bozo, I remind followers of the strip that these are 1950’s strips and were created during a much less politically charged time. “Bozo” seldom loses followers but yesterday lost two. I have a hunch that the loss was the result of Bozo hitting a police officer with a brick in yesterday’s strip. I can assure followers that my dad, Foxo Reardon, had the highest respect for police officers, which is the reason they appear so often in his strips.

    1) DOGGY CROSS: Bozo walking his dog and comes across a lovely lady walking her great Dane. She cuddles Bozo’s dog whil her dog slobbers over Bozo!

    2) DROP COIN: Man pays for newspaper with coin, Bozo examines it an then drops it and it rolls into a grate!

    3) SLIP TO THE JAIL MY DARLING: Bozo walking and reading the newspaper slips on someone’s roller-skate propelling it to hit a cop in the head. Said cop is very angry at him.
