Or in my case, the candle in the pumpkin represents my… I dunno, heartburn?

Georgia, if there is a jar of Christmas lights in each of us, yours must glow like a super nova!! You bring so much joy to us all with BCN; I can’t thank you enough!

“Local cat in sticky situation”

Lupin, you are mostly sticky with the sentimental slush that Puck produces from time to time.

“To represent the jar of Christmas lights in all of us”—that is one of my most favourite BCN lines. Puck is so existential!

Nobody mentions the cute little baby. He’s darling.

Doesn’t represent the jar of Christmas lights in me. I’m old enough that I still remember when we’d put candles in the jack-o-lantern.

If you don’t get sentimental slush and Christmas lights in all of us, you don’t get the point of BCN. For once there is an intelligent, clever, and beautifully rendered strip whose humor isn’t just based on rehashed snark, sexist complaints, and cutting the world down. BCN, and Georgia, are truly creative treasures in an otherwise mostly boring, redundant comic universe.

Puck’s comment about the Christmas lights really resonates with me. I, too am old enough to remember putting candles in the pumpkins. Now my family has to make do with a tea light, since Mallory ( long haired torture, now gone) set her tail on fire one evening.

You don’t get that candle/burning pumpkin smell with LED lights!

Lupin certainly has sticktoitofness

Lupin, if you can find that marker, I think a bit of blue would highlight the pumpkin color just right.

Is Pucky not just the sweetest cat ever?

Lupin, you’re just sticky and need a wash or a bath.

Lupin’s expression today is almost as priceless as the one from yesterday.

Georgia once wrote about Lupin’s fascination with candles. She wrote, “We’re very, VERY careful to keep him away from them in real life.” Maybe they don’t use candles in the pumpkin for his safety. You can find it under the original strip titled “The Baby is Turning One” posted April 16, 2016. But there’s a spoiler alert. It has at least 3 characters that we haven’t met yet in the reboot, so it would be very confusing for new readers.

Though I don’t do Facebook I do check on Georgia’s page for updates and today’s post reveals that GC is going to sell Tommy pins next week … excellent timing for my Christmas shopping :)

my Callie hates this time of year she has allergies and asthma so its hard on her plus she is 15 years old so its not getting easier
