Mmm mmm mmm, love me some fish and chips! With mushy peas too. I will admit to having to make them myself now a days as you never know what’s been put in the batter in the store versions – the joys of food issues
Current two don’t eat people food – weirdos – but my previous four were always very happy when I cooked fish … and bacon … and ham … they were good boys and girl :)
I don’t remember if Yang had any interest in fish ‘n’ chips. Now, garbanzo beans, he was on in a New York minute. And cake. And popcorn. And you had to wear body armor if you came in with bologna.
Yum Yum doesn’t really care for people food; she usually turns her nose up at it, but will occasionally deign to accept a fingernail sized piece. But only one, if I offer her a second one she looks at me as though I am trying to poison her.
Hm. I shoulda gone to Spud in Redmond yesterday—mighta run into the Man. ‘Course, he might have gone to Ivar’s or Skipper’s. Offhand, I don’t know of any other chippys around here.
Cap’n D’s crunchies (some people call them cracklings, though they’re not pork) are a highly desired critter treat at my house. (The crunchies are small loose bits of batter that drip off when the filets are dropped in the fryer, and Cap’n D’s adds some in with the family pack.) The cats and dog are even happier if they get a smidgen of real fish as well.
Our guys don’t like most fish, which is odd, considering the favorite treat is salmon or tuna flavored. They like tuna water, will sniff at tuna salad and give us the “Why did you ruin it?” look. Chips, on the other hand, are accepted, as are small bits of popcorn.
I’m veggie and can’t stand being around fish, but my partner sometimes gets chicken in a box and shares a bit with the cat. She sits so patiently waiting for her pieces, and insists on stealing it from him once he’s given it out. So he has to put it down, look away, and then she sneaks off with it. Same deal when we get noodles and he licks the sauce off bits of duck (or whatever) for her. She’s nowhere near as polite when it comes to demanding her usual catfood.
What cat needs a watch ? It’s all in their tummy. Even alarm_ clock syndrome is predicated on breakfast time. Too bad it takes a few days for them to sleep according to the daylight savings adjustments !
I had a cat called Mooch that would literally eat anything. Flies, she would catch and eat. Spaghetti, yes, she would eat that (funniest thing EVER), pudding, cheese… yes, and she was tiny – never gained weight because she was catching and eating flies and anything else. Miss that cat.

Fish would be great but would the Good Boys be able to sit on the container like they do with pizza?

Any takeout would be better than having kale again!

I’d ask what you people are all doing awake right now, but considering that it’s nearly 3 a.m. for me…

Just once, I ordered a pizza with 1/4 anchovies. Was the best pizza ever for my cat of the time.

Mmmm…. I love people food too. Picanic basket goodies, especially…

Our Roy ignores the food mostly, he prefers to crawl inside the brown paper shopping bag, because it smells like chicken

We used to get the same sort of thing at Long John Silvers. Yum.

Pucky, you might want to move. When the door swings open, you’ll be right in the line of fire!

Thanks, Georgia. I think I’ll call home for an order and hit Chipotle on the way home.
