I don’t think it really matters what we’re reading except that we’re reading something and will stay in place for a while and thus be available to provide body heat and a cushy place for our cats to sleep.

So true, oh so true! But so adorable too. Yesterday I was trying to read with a dog across my lap and a cat between my chin and the dog. Gave up and took a nap too.

My little girl does that all the time with any book and even my tablet. I ask her if I can finish reading and I normally get a no.

My Sabrina would bat at newspapers while you tried to read them. Hemingway will walk across me and park his furry, very not see-through butt directly between my face and my book/phone/tablet st.

It’s a matter of attention. If you are going to concentrate your attention anywhere, it has to be on the most worthy recipient.

Louis does like to read the newspaper, especially when it’s laid out for him on the table out on the screen porch. Nothing says warm morning like the smell of a newspaper. At least he allows me to enjoy my coffee :)

My husband would read the Sunday paper in bed. We had a cat, Holly, who was missing her left front foot. She would get on the bed, walk over behind the paper, settle her weight on her back legs and with a big overhand swing rip a hole in the paper with her right paw. Not subtle at all.

Is there a cat-owned person anywhere who hasn’t been in The Woman’s position?

now I have a laptop on a tv tray so when I sit on the couch, it’s over the arm of the couch, my Lexus will sit right in front of the laptop on the couch arm watching the screen. Dead center of what I am trying to see.

This is why Norma Bates Kitteh is the supervisor at the shops of the Razorback Traction Company. If I’m working on a train, she has to make sure the work is being done properly… :D

My previous kitties liked to lay on my books, but the 3 that I am currently staff for, don’t bother. They will lay in my lap or beside me when I am reading. One of them, Holly, likes to rub her face on the edge of the book or the tablet which makes reading a little difficult when it is bouncing all over the place.

Why are you paying attention to THAT when you should be paying attention to MEEE?

I could put a tiny scrape of paper on the floor, and Big Gray would lay down right on it.

Good morning, and happy Friday, BCN orbsters and orbabies. We are due for a snowy day again here in Barrie. Yum Yum is celebrating the weather by sleeping on top of the fireplace so she can soak up the heat. I also plan to soak up the heat, but I will not be sharing her perch. Sending warm (((hugs))), bumps and boops to everyone. Font Lady, my thoughts are with you today.

Well, the weather outside is frightful, but my cat is so delightful! And since my old car won’t go-oh-oh-oh, Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow! (As long as everyone is warm, fed & safe, that is!) :-)

Meav and my tablet have become best friends. She likes Candy Crush the best. She likes the tablet so much I installed games for cats on it and set it down on the bed for her to play with when I have to get up to do something else. She slaps the front and will try to sneak up on the mouse by grabbing it from the back of the tablet with no success so far but that doesn’t deter her from trying. I do have to keep her talons trimmed if I want the screen to be legible however.

Cats and books, how classic! I’ve got a book/computer sitter currently wanting me to stop typing and get my hands away from the computer so she can sit on it and I can pet her. Couldn’t post last night because a certain someone was ALREADY on the keyboard. Her mother was so much more considerate and would just block half of the keyboard, allowing me to pet her with one hand and type with the other.

My cats and I have reached a hard won compromise. Pepper lies on my chest. Kitten boy sits on my thighs. Baby vick curls around my neck. I rest my book/ kindle on peppers back for elevation. Purrfect reading poses by all. Until the remaining two get hungry, that is.

Font lady, how are you? I just experienced my moms funeral. I cant imagine dealing with one for my husband. I am not trying to pry. But maybe the anonymity will help you vent and grieve. I do care, sincerely.
