What could he be playing? Possibly Concerto for Piano and Orchestra by Ben Folds. A piece that he has stated is about death, unfortunately I am on my tablet so I cannot put the link to it in here.

Best hiding place ever. The kids quit piano lessons and nobody touches it for the next 40 years. It worked for Rick in Casablanca. There are 6 abandoned ones in every church and school.
