While visiting Hong Kong and the Philippines I discovered that at least one Hong Kong newspaper and two Manila newspapers carry Calvin and Hobbes (in English). So, I did not miss any episodes while I was travelling, but, lacking computer access, I missed the many wonderful comments from you fellow fans out there.
Reminiscent of Sir Walter Raleigh’s attempts to adapt the Irish to the Plantation system. But he took it West and kept trying, discovered the virtues of imported labor and it worked real well for some for a while.

Dear Old Dad takes it in stride almost as well as Lio’s dad. Of course, in Lio’s case those would not be snowmen heads on the stakes.

Methinks Calvin might be in trouble with Mom and left a note for Dad to rescue him from torture.

B/t/w: Any C&H strips with Calvin’s wonderfully imaginative snowmen in them are always my FAVORITE strips to read!!!!!
