Dad is right, provided that we are talking about a State college. And before all you State alums get your knickers in a twist, I am an alumnus of a State University.

Sounds a lot like Calvin’s “Ol’ elementary school try.”

My best girlfriend had a Father like Calvin’s. She had a delightful sense of humor as did her brothers. The Mother would sit on the front porch a lot and shake her head…

It DOES depend on the school. I went to an extremely liberal arts college in Washington (a state school, no less) where hallucinogens were the social lubricant of choice. At least I think so. There’s a lot I don’t remember about Evergreen…

I actually remember this strip when it was first printed! My roommate, from college, & I actually cut his one out of the paper & hung it on our cork board! LOL!!

Calvin can’t add 2+5. If he were my kid, I’d sit down with him and help him. I know this is just a comic strip but I’ve seen too many parents who have kids but don’t know how to raise them.

You often hear about college drop-outs becoming famously successful; but how come you never hear about college drop-ins?
Successful drop-outs:Henry FordBill GatesLarry EllisonMark ZuckerbergLarry PageMichael DellPaul AllenSteve JobsWalt Disney
The complete list is quite impressive; of course now, if you are currently attending college, pay no attention to this…

I can tell this is dated. Currently it would be the drink-til-you-pass-out-and-let-your-friends-dump-the-body-somewhere try

@HobbsThanx for the Linus snowman strip. I was 19 when it came out in 1963. Believe it was one of the 1st times I realized a comic strip could be a lesson in life. My memory isn’t good enough to remember it for 52 years. Somewhere I have a collection of strips tucked away.

Did you?

I’m with Calvin’s mum on this. I’m sure there was no mention of the pizza.

DaD needs to be aware that Calvin is overly curious&very impressionable!

@rgcviper: The return of Calvin’s snow goons? I guess that’s a hypothetical possibility.
