Dad is going to be doubly mad when he get the bill from the newspaper for the ad.

I bet Calvin is also thinking about taking the day off from school.

After that “camping” adventure, mom helped with the ad and will help to screen the applicants

Y’know… day off or not, he was bound to read the paper eventually. Sure, Calvin might have remembered to take that page out before his Dad got home, but really, knowing Calvin, he would have forgotten about it until he saw his Dad reading it, and then the scene would have played out exactly the same… just at a later part of the day.

Calvin, you blew it by asking for the classifieds. No kid does that ever. Ask for the comics. If he’s reading them, ask for the Sports. You’ll probably get all the rest of the junk that fills up newsprint, the classifieds included, and you can deal.

Who reads the classifieds for entertainment? I agree with Calvin that his Dad should be replaced.
