It’s incredible how Watterson makes buildings look cartoony, yet extremely well-drawn, all at the same time. I mean, look at them- they’re leaning and bulging all over the place, yet they’re PERFECTLY rendered, the inking & shadows are masterful, and , and the perspective is dead-on (especially in the scene with the people seen way down below).

Stupendous Man misunderstands Mom Lady. They’re really both on the same side, champions of liberty. It’s just that Mom Lady knows superheroes need a good night sleep.
I’ve always found it interesting how it’s only the cape and hood that exists in real life, but in the imagination scenes, Calvin’s in a full-body suit.

I wonder if Mr. Pennyworth at times told Master Bruce to take off the cowl afore retiring to bed.

I get the sense that Calvin lives in technicolor, while his parents live in muted grays…

He takes after Batman, but may be a Superman kind of “hero”.

I’m surprised Stupendous Man doesn’t have a trusty sidekick like the Masked Tiger or something

Why did she call it a silly hood? It was Mom-Lady who crafted the hood for Stupendous Man.
