Only six weeks until Calvin gets his beanie and then maybe pretends to be some kind of flying monster with it. Eh no biggie. Got my computer and new games to keep me busy.
The brain is supposed to produce to power of a 20 watt light. For someone like Calvin, the little propeller uses wind power to make up for his shortfall.
Live it up kid. The anticipation and imagination is the best part of waiting for what you want. Once you get it, the reality sets in and it is never as good as your imagination.
When I was Calvin’s age – tooooo many years ago to think about – all I wanted to do was watch Saturday morning cartoons and eat Super Sugar Cereals. It was also then that I experienced my first “Allow 4-6 Weeks For Delivery” experience. If you saved enough proofs of purchase from Kool-Aid packages you could send them in for a free mug. I swear – I aged 10 years as though 4-6 weeks crept by. I found them this morning on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1969-1974-Pillsbury-Funny-Face-Kool-Aid-Mug-Lot-Of-6-Cups-F-F-Mold-Die/283366182539?hash=item41f9f0ce8b:g:0iYAAOSweXBcWMhc:rk:1:pf:1&frcectupt=true
I remember little “prizes” inside the box. For all I know, they may still have them. But my parents would never let me order any of the send away for stuff, so I missed out on those six week delivery waits. I think when we ordered things from catalogs it was generally faster than that.

I never knew 1980’s Calvin had such a strong desire to be a 1950’s kid.

I went through this crap back when I ordered a Roy Rogers decoder ring. By the time it arrived, I had forgotten about it. Yeah – I’m old.

Put a chin strap on that, and there’d be no end to the places Calvin could fly! ;)

Us Air Force types refer to Army helicopter pilots as “rotor heads” but it is meant with respect.
Seen on a men’s room wall at an Officer’s Club: “Helicopters don’t fly; they beat the air into submission.”
I’ve been on board a chopper and I now know the meaning of “shaken, not stirred.”

I remember those long waits! I was a kid from the 50’s! Wish I had known then how great I had it as a kid.

Boy, he’s in for a dissapointment. Any of y’all order anything out of comic books in the 60’s and 70’s?

Still not as bad as when he thought at least half an hour had passed when it was 20 seconds.
