I bet it was Vincent Price just before the final scene of the original (and BEST version of) “The Fly”. The brain worm of that STILL gives me the willies after all these years. No kidding. “Heelllp me… please heellp me”.
A typewriter! A total blast from the past. That rates right up there with the corded rotary-dialed wall-phone from a few strips back. It was a different world, maybe better…
I had a Siamese cat that would try to type. He jammed up my manual typewriter keys in the middle of the night. Eventually, I bought an unjammable IBM Selectric typewriter. I was interested in what he would produce with it. Unfortunately, it was disappointing – shallow cat-centric plots, full of Siamese bluster and bravado and just awful, awful spelling. :)

Bug, pest, both would be accurate.

Oh, the days of yore of utilizing a typewriter which required correction fluid to fix a mistake… or an unintentional side memo.

Not strange, as Calvin has been a bug for a long time.

I remember, from childhood, when typing something on a typewriter (vs. writing by hand) was a BIG deal. How times change …
AndreasMartin about 3 years ago
Of course, that was long before autocorrect. Otherwise, granny would have read ‘Hell, I’m buxom.’
