Santa has the categories naughty and nice; he doesn’t have “gray area.”

Susie could say, “Are we playing a game where we hold our hands over our heads? What are we pretending to be?”

Sounds like being good kind of conflicts with Calvin’s essential nature. That happens sometimes.

Siiiigggghhhh, Calvin, Calvin, Calvin.

Cal always loses arguments with his better self.

This is why the whole ‘Santa’ thing is limited to kids.

If it was adults, lawyers would be involved.

I’m with Hobbes on this one!

When is knocking someone’s fillings loose ever a “gray area”? LOL

Ten good acts is a daunting task. Just start with one and maybe you can do it.

He’s right-handed in the first frame and left-handed in the second. Ambidextrous, or comic license?

And Calvin grew up to be head of the Republican Party.

I just had a sinister thought. What if Hobbes is a rat for Santa? ..nah. Tigers can’t be rats.

Remember the wonderful scene in “Animal House” (THE best movie ever made, esp The Double Secret Probation version) where Lawrence Kroger has a little devil and a little angel on each shoulder? This strip reminds me of that. Minus the devil’s advice, of course.

How many fillings could Susie have? Given that she’s 6 years old, she probably still has all or most of her baby teeth.

Contrary to what Calvin may believe, gray areas won’t impress Santa.

I wonder what he became when he grew to adult size. Notice that I did not say when he grew up nor when he became an adult.

He might have to post-date a few snowballs.

LOL… Love Calvin’s logic. But, I love Hobbes’ even more.

Why does Hobbes hang around with Calvin? He should find better behaved kids to be friends with.

Once again, Calvin’s a procrastinator, and Hobbes is the voice of reason.

Enough talk of fillings…I just had dental work this morning.

The premise of this confuses me. Of course Calvin shouldn’t be cruel to Susie, but Calvin’s promised to do good deeds, not refrain from doing bad ones.

Santa isn’t his real problem. He should be thinking about Suzie’s inevitable retaliation.
