Irving: Let's grab some groceries and start over with a nice, homemade meal. Cathy: Grocery shop together? Irving: Whay not? Cathy: It's so sudden. I mean, we've eaten out... carried out... ordered in... but grocery shop?? I don't know. Are you ready for that?? Am I ready for that?? Irving: No simple answers and... we discover... no simple questions. Cathy: He wants to grocery shop with me!!

And, please tell me, Cathy, just what is so special about grocery shopping? Just one more thing for Irving to get confused about! Happy Monday all… ;)

Speaking as a former archaologist, I figure grocery shopping is the modern day equivalent of the ‘gathering’ function that women undertook back in ancient times, while men hunted. Gathering is a much slower process, involving comparison of plants, etc, to make sure you aren’t picking something that previously proved to be poison. Hunting is much faster.-Today’s ‘gathering’ at the grocery store would involve taking the time to read labels and compare prices with and without coupons, versus the somewhat faster process of going through a drive-through, or ordering a pizza…

It’s a wonder Irving didn’t have a great big AACK!!! to give Cathy after all her angst-ridden questions in panel #3 regarding a simple trip to the grocery store . . . because that’s what I would have done if I had been him!!!!!
Hi, rgcviper!

With Irving in tow, I doubt it will be a “simple trip to the grocery store” ;)
