The word you’re looking for, Mom, is lucrative.

Make your own dress! It’ll be completely unique and personal.

(Not to mention quite a lot cheaper!)

If Cathy would quit spending money on stuff she never uses and hides in the trunk of her car, she could afford a designer dress at several thousand!

I think it’s “funny” how Cathy’s mom is so outraged by the cost of everything, yet she keeps wanting to invite more people. .Hello Cathy friends! Congratulations to your daughter on her masters, hendelca! That’s quite an accomplishment, and you sound like a proud papa! :-)Yes, sis and lindz.coop, there are some nuts over at FBOFW! I don’t comment every day unless I have something to say and I usually don’t go back to read responses. That person you’re referring to does seem to have some issues that he really needs therapy for, but I doubt will get it….Happy birthday to my sweet husband! He has to travel today for work, but still bought breakfast for 3 offices today (a tradition that he started years ago) in Atlanta, California and Madrid. Chicken biscuits for the US offices and churros for the Spanish one. What a good guy! ❤️❤️

Have you priced material? It is NOT cheaper to make your own dress.

I’m just wondering if Cathy and Irving managed to get that add-itional $18,000.00 out of her parents they were looking for yes-terday? Maybe their wanting to spend more money than was originally budgeted is why her mom is so outraged at the cost of the dress, cake and flowers today (although I think that ship initially sailed with the indiscriminate inviting of 1,079 people at $45.00/person to a venue that only holds 125 people when all they had to spend was $10,000.00 to begin with!!!!!).

    Hi, rgcviper!

lightenup: A very, very happy birthday to your hubby today! :-)

B/t/w: I wonder what that bride used to hold that t.p. dress together and how she kept it from tearing so easily at its perforation lines? It’s certainly pretty though!

hendelca: Congratulations on your daughter earning her Master’s degree!!! :-)

lightenup & lindz.coop: I rarely ever read the comments over at FBoFW because they can, indeed, be quite unpleasant at times. But every now and then when the comic itself makes me wonder what others are saying about it, then I’ll read them that day. Sun-day’s comic with Farley joining in with that cat to do their own brand of “singing” together made me think of some of the cute dog and cat pix I have on one of my Pinterest boards, so I posted some especially cute, feel-good ones I had. Naturally, there had to be ONE jerk there to find something “wrong” with them in order to try and bring them down. I usually respond to anyone who “talks” to me whenever I post something — whether it’s a picture or a comment — but this guy I just totally ignored because I think he’s pathetic and simply not worth my time.

Hello and Happy Tuesday, fellow Cathy fans. Hope everyonehad a really nice day today! :-)

Thank you for the congratulations on my daughter’s graduation. It was rather special for us. She dropped out of school at 17 and left home. After a few years she managed to get her high school diploma at a school for adults. Then she got her undergraduate degree. She took the Masters program online which enabled her to work full time as an addictions counselor while taking the courses. After 2.5 years of no life outside of work and school she can relax and plan her wedding which is coming up in September. Really glad her fiance was so supportive during the last couple of years. Note that my wife and I stay out of the wedding planning other than to give advice when asked for. Sure makes the current series of strips rather relevant.

I gave up reading the comments on FBoFW. Too much negativity. Instead I read the strips at http://fborfw.com/strip_fix/ and read Lynn’s comments. She often describes the events in her own life that gave her the ideas for the current strip.
