Atlas did not hold up the earth; he held up the sky. Still does, apparently, since it hasn’t fallen on us.

Humm, if he’s got the whole ‘World’ in his hands, what planet is he standing on?

Not to nitpick about the new kid, but there are two theories regarding Atlas’ descent. One is that he is son of iapetus, which would make him Zeus’ cousin since Zeus is born from Cronos, brother of iapetus. Ok, we can go with younger cousin. Another is that Atlas is a son of Ouranos, thus first generation Titan, which makes him Zeus’ uncle.

Reminds me of a Discworld story about Fourecks – The last Continent. The creator of Fourecks carried the continent in a bag while he was standing on the continent.

If a person loves his work and then it made to do that same work as punishment, is it really a punishment?

Apparently Zeus is a fan of Limozeen.

I thought John McPherson was a professing Christian, T’is a tad sacrilegious to apply a Christian hymn to pagan deities, like the Disney© company was reputed to have done in the soundtrack of their movie “Hercules”.

A teensy little problem. Atlas held up the sky while standing on an Earth continent named after him, Atlantis. That would be in the Atlantic Ocean, which we see here is vacant.
