Disagreeing doesnât make anybody a troll. But surely trolls canât expect their targets to agree with personal humiliations, sarcasm, or intimidation. (I donât recall an alleged troll ever having merely âdisagreedâ with Joe about anything other than his personal characteristics, actual or imagined.) A target who objects to abusive treatment is entitled to call it what it is, not just to âdisagree.â
It should be no surprise to be called a troll if you gotta attack people with irrelevant abuse like âOklahomoâ (which is offensive to read even if youâre a straight northeasterner). If the shoe fits âŠ
