She’s got the paper towel dispenser loaded backwards. I say, “she” because if Earl would have done it, being a man, he would have done it right. It’s a matter of logic, which is why women don’t get it.
PS: I’m not exactly thrilled with your comment on women and logic; I’m a woman and I have a bachelor’s in computer software engineering and that requires VERY good logic.
However, I find it so funny that people are so uptight about the way the toilet paper and paper towels are hung. I see this all the time and don’t get it. I have much more important things on my mind than which way the tp or paper towels come off the dispenser.
If I can do it all in one load, I would…but if it meant dropping something along the way, then two trips it is.

It is a matter of preference as to how to load the towel/toilet paper dispenser. Every time I see it done your way, I think it’s wierd. I load it Opal’s way and I’m a man - and I have no cats.
The underhanded roll (as shown) makes it easier to tear off towels with one hand, the weight of the roll is between the force and the perforations. Rolling from the top and try to do it one handed and you’ll just get a long length of towels that you have to roll back onto the dispenser.
I’ve never tried the groceries in the mouth technique. Looks painful & risky.
I am lazy. I have become very adept at carrying vast loads of items bought on a shopping trip, in one load. It works very well if someone can get the door for me. Otherwise it is a b%tch.
Maybe the paper towels are hung that way because this is a DRAWING and it “reads” better. I know I’d have drawn it that way, regardless of how I hang my paper towels (upright, on a wooden stand :-)

PS: I suspect Brian Crane baited us on this one, seeing as how the ill-fated towel dispenser loading snafu shows in three panels.

Earl must use Pollygrip.

Uh, kreole if you live in a house with a cat, that is the right way to load a paper dispenser; the cat can’t unroll the whole thing with one swipe.

I’m going to get some groceries today. I wouldn’t mind letting Earl bring in my groceries in one trip.

Have you ever heard of “lazy man’s load? That’s Earl!

Foreman: How come everyone else is carrying two boards and you’re carrying one?
Worker: Because they’re too lazy to make two trips

It may work ok for Earl to do it all in one trip IF one of the bags doesn’t contain eggs. If so he’d better make a second trip.
As for under or over, I have always preferred over. And FishStix, cats are ALWAYS on the counter!

Y’all are wrong, overhand *or* underhand.
My paper towel dispenser is mounted sideways and it works better than either of yours.
Nyah!

The real question is how does she hang toilet paper rolls?
