We adopted our son after being his foster parents… having little athletic ability myself (“He’s small, but he’s slow!”), I felt NO need to “expect” athletic talent from him. He played kid’s-league baseball, soccer, and high school football – all poorly! THAT didn’t matter; what DID matter was he enjoyed playing!
