Nice to know that with the technology we have, people can celibrate New Year’s Eve at a more convient hour.
I, however, plan on celibrating the old-fashioned way by actually staying up until midnight.
Happy New Year!

I go to bed when I get tired. Some nights it’s at 10:00 and others it’s at 1:00. New Year’s Eve is no different.

I do the same, Macushlalondra. Last year I was up for the new year though, so I’m guessing this year I will be too.
Happy New Year, all!

we’re so used to getting up in the wee hours to go to work that I haven’t stayed up til midnight in years
tonight won’t be much different, but since I don’t have to get up for work tomorrow I may be a rogue and stay up til 10! ;-)

I plan to take a nap so I will be wide awake for Midnight and usher in 2010 by watching the fireworks.

I’ll be up until midnight, then I’ll open the back door and listen to 10 minutes of fireworks and gunfire from all over town.

For those like me with a BD on News Years Eve/ Happy New Years Day to all. Me I have trouble sleeping and yet manage to get up at 7am. Last year I went to bed at 11pm but was still awake long after 12am. I will work pt on my BD then come home and watch DC New Years Eve in NY most likely I will be up after 12 because I can’t sleep my husband will be in bed long before me. I don’t take naps my mind don’t shut down plays tunes and I am not a great singer.

Two years ago spent NY eve with my adult daughter who had just had her tonsils out (on the 31st…) Despite her pain meds and both our fatigue we managed to stay up until the fireworks died down. Her dog is terrified of them and we just kept him occupied and calmed…. Also wanted to be sure (really sure!) she wasn’t going to bleed out at the 10 -12 hour post operation window… First time I’d been up until 1am (except when reading a great book….) in ages. We’ll see what this year brings. In Atlantic time here so “watching the Times Square celebration” (1 am for us) is pretty much out of the question!

Here in New Orleans, the bars open at eight on New Years Day because of the Sugar Bowl. As a bartender, I have to get up early. So I’m going to sleep early. My BF will wake me up for a kiss at midnight.

Hey, does it have to be midnite where you are? considering how many people watch the celebrations in Times Square on TV. (I can’t think of anything more ridiculous than watching other people having a party on TV instead of having one yourself.)
Since it’s always midnite somewhere, just celebrate accordingly.
For example, if you are in California, that’s Pacific time, 3 hours after New York, which is Eastern time. So at 9 pm your time, New York is celebrating the New Year, so you can join in then, and then go to sleep.

Here it is 11:30pm (my time zone) and I’m up, so it looks like I’ll be seeing in the new year/decade. Let’s hope it’ll be a good one!!
