And is the teddy bear peering down from John’s folded legs? The whole thing is funny LOL :-)
Joe, they’re both parents here, so they both do what needs to be done. It makes sense to me, just like if the kids were girls, Elly would be sleeping with the guest.
Mom is just guiding Mike out of the room, dad is mad cause he wants sleep and in his own bed.
I’ve been there before only with girls and they are just as bad as boys. Especially with no basement and rooms are contected.
Day/night #1 and waaaaaayyyyyy too many more to go before Connie is done having a 7-day sex-binge in Montreal with Phil!!!!! Now aren’t you glad you volunteered, Elly???!!!
I have a basic question: what’s so wrong about staying up late and giggling? is it as simple as having to get up the next day to go to school and being over-tired?
I ask because I remember an incident from long ago. My cousin had come over to visit and we were talking and my mother came to tell us to be quiet, we were staying up much too late. Well, at the time he and I were both in our twenties, and we both felt that we had long passed the stage when parents had a right to tell up we were staying up too late.
Anyway, he felt unwelcome and went home. We had both been enjoying the conversation - we hadn’t seen each other for a long time. So now I always wonder whether there is ever any good reason for stopping kids from talking at night.
RinaFarina - My sons are each other’s main playmates, even at 20 & 17, and for years they shared a room. We decided a long time ago, that we weren’t going to play cop at night just because they weren’t pretending to sleep. As long as they weren’t doing something that is forbidden during the day, and weren’t keeping someone awake who was trying to sleep, it was okay.
Rmom, this reminds me of my brothers when we were growing up. They shared a room and they’d always laugh and joke at night before going to sleep. My dad would holler from his room, “Don’t make me come in there!” When he came in there it was with the belt.

I quote one of my all time favourite books: Bang Bang, Rattle Bing Bang, gonna make our noise all night!
It looks like Elly is cupping both Mike’s ears in the last panel … or is she perhaps doing the ancient “Grandmother Ear Grab” ?

They didn’t handle this right at all. I’d tell them the next peep I hear, that person is going to sleep on the floor in Lizzy’s room.

Why does Michael have the blanket in his mouth? I agree with mucush. I’m confused as to why it was done that way.

I don’t even want to think of the possible consequences from ‘GetchensMom’s’ comment.

Well in 9 months Elly will be babysitting a young boy and a newborn. ;)

He has his blanket in his mouth because he’s trying to suppress the giggles!
