I haven’t thought of Near Beer in ages. Do they still make it?

They call it “no-alcohol beer” now, to differentiate the stuff that has the alcohol removed by reverse osmosis (O’Douls, Sharp’s, and imports like Kaliber, Clausthauler, etc) from the older “near beer” which had the alcohol removed by boiling (the infamous Kinsbury Brew). The newer brews–especially the imports–actually do manage to taste like beer.

If you’r going to pay to have your barley fermented and then pay to have the alcohol taken back out, of course it’s going to cost more!
