A lot of it has to do with parents that don’t care. They see that it’s totally up to schools to educate their kids and don’t take an active role insuring that kids are learning. The other problem is that school are so concerned about passing state and federally mandated tests, that they can’t teach what needs to be taught.
Have any of you watched Jay Leno’s jaywalking? Some of the answers those people give is a crying shame. It’s hard to believe they can’t even answer basic questions. Maybe it’s scripted but, it’s really irritating.

I cannot believe that this kid does not know who Gandhi is.
