My daughterâs place faces out on a highway, with a 200-foot driveway. Never any trick or treaters. Otherwise, theyâd have to walk through our back-door neighborâs yard. (He lets us use it.) One grandkid wanted to take our bag oâ candy (which we always get âjust in caseâ) up to the school-bus shelter for the trick or treaters on 1st St. We wouldnât let her. For trick or treating we freeload off Kohler, WI, which is fancier. Then we eat at Chilliâs. Iâm sure you could make some fun in Norfolk.

I took my two around the new neighborhood and was suprised when several of the treat givers were telling my kids âGrab something for your mom.â But then it seemed like trick-or-treaters were thin on the ground, at least compared to my old neighborhood.

Just read the list of ingredients. Youâll never want any store-bought candy again.

I remember a âFoxtrotâ where Andy bought a bunch of âgoodâ candy, even though she was still planning to hand out little boxes of healthy raisins. And then there was Wanda on âBaby Bluesâ who hoarded the quality creme eggs for herself.
