Hey, a dad’s gotta do what a dad’s gotta do. (Although moms do this, too.)

Two brave Dads “throwing themselves on the grenade” to save their kids.

Brings a tear to yer eye. (sniff)

I wish they had been my parents (they’re taking all the stuff i didnt care for anyway… my parents always took a bunch of the snickers, kit kats, and other “good” candy!)

My daughter’s place faces out on a highway, with a 200-foot driveway. Never any trick or treaters. Otherwise, they’d have to walk through our back-door neighbor’s yard. (He lets us use it.) One grandkid wanted to take our bag o’ candy (which we always get “just in case”) up to the school-bus shelter for the trick or treaters on 1st St. We wouldn’t let her. For trick or treating we freeload off Kohler, WI, which is fancier. Then we eat at Chilli’s. I’m sure you could make some fun in Norfolk.

I took my two around the new neighborhood and was suprised when several of the treat givers were telling my kids “Grab something for your mom.” But then it seemed like trick-or-treaters were thin on the ground, at least compared to my old neighborhood.

Just read the list of ingredients. You’ll never want any store-bought candy again.

I remember a “Foxtrot” where Andy bought a bunch of “good” candy, even though she was still planning to hand out little boxes of healthy raisins. And then there was Wanda on “Baby Blues” who hoarded the quality creme eggs for herself.
