BOB… Bring Own Beer?

Bailey …. I dunno… you have to be careful with stereotypes…maybe all robins bob, but not everything that Bobs is a Robin….or maybe I’m tired and punchy.Take your pick.

Bev .. if that were THAT Bob, he wouldn’t need balloons.Or so he says.

I’ve GOT to get to bed…. But before I keel over…

Couple of things from “last night”…. though it’s still last night to me here….

I love old Fenton glass,which is often ruffled and fluted and opalescent.

I’m not fond of those 1950’s -60’s big thick swirly ashtrays and such in what a friend used to call “tortured glass”…

HATE those stretched out clowns and such they sell now, and a lot of modern “art glass.”.

But… I love Dale Chihuly’s stuff…there was a big exhibition here and sadly, I had to miss it.

A friend bought a tiny little leaf-shaped dish in the gift shop…. they made thousands so not terribly expensive….and even that is beautiful.

Also love those glass seashells you posted, Bev, whoever did them.

And that was a beautiful shoe… er… champagne glass, too, X.For special occasions indeed.Please don’t worry about the typo…. it made me laugh!After all…. I was already joking about it when I accepted your kind invitation.

Sorry I missed most of you…. but I do keep strange hours.That’s why I help on the night shift.The fireman got off his shift 20 minutes ago…it’s Fenton’s night off…the Monkey is…um…. OK, I hear snoring from…on top…of…. the refrigerator…You do have a bed, Monkey!Oh… I see…. lots of bananas up there…

I need to sleep…. but the Tiki never closes….so the Tuesday night spider monkey crew will run the bar till morning…G’night guys…all six of you…(takes 2 to pull a tap or pour a drink, 3 to carry a bottle…. but they work for peanuts.)See the rest of you in the morning.I’m staying on Ballard St.

I like the touch with the balloons.Gives it a one man parade feel.Bob? Has a nice ring to it. Short, to the point.Better than Wilbur. (Every first born male child in my family tree has this middle name. No one can remember the reason its just the way it is done. Everyone askes me where is Mr. Ed.)

And to answer that now.He is in the barn chewing on peanut butter (Jiffy of course the sponser of the show)

I think old red glass is gorgeous.I remember being warned back in the 80’s (when I sold collectibles) not to drink from it, because it contained mercury, which might leach….but as far as I know, it’s actually always been made with gold, not mercury…. which is one reason it was so valuable.Now that you’ve reminded me…. I’ve never looked it up on the internet!

There is also something called “mercury glass”…. hollow with a shiny coating inside…. you’ve seen a thin version in old Christmas ornaments.

But that has no mercury either…. it’s silver oxide like a mirror.

It’s all beautiful, though.

Stel…. Bob looks less than thrilled with the honor.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone….!!! an if ya dont git enuff turkey, stop by the Tiki…!!! we gots ribs an steaks on the grill!!!

Don’t turkey ribs fall right through the grate on your grill?I mean, it was built for yak!

Bev…. no… I didn’t know that about Dale Chihuly…. that’s a shame…. but whatever I’ve seen of his work (mostly in pictures) has been beautiful, so I guess he’s doing OK.

I was thinking maybe the plan is for that guy to check his bike in the baggage compartment… and save the “wheels” some airfare. Yikes!

And yes… that was one reason Miss Millie wanted all that glitter….for the awards ceremony, you know…. I just got a call saying she’s been under the bed, pouting, all day.

Meanwhile…looks like you’re doing a good job of keeping your turkey warm…. though I thought that was supposed to happen after you roast it…. silly me.

Is BOB a name or a verb? If it’s a verb, there could be trouble.

Unfortunately, we don’t get the same Twinings you do…never saw that variety…. and ours is packed in the US and is weaker than what my friends have brought from England.

Just like American Tetley’s is a joke these days… has become like the Red Rose we get, which might as well be Lipton.

I used to buy Typhoo… then it got “Americanised” too…. weaker, less flavor… I was SO glad when they started importing PG Tips.

We can sometimes get Taylor’s Yorkshire tea, too but it costs twice as much… and a deluxe PG tips that costs more but isn’t better, IMHO.

Regular PG Tips is about as good as anything I can find without going to Canada. Sad!
